McKinney, Texas
McKinney is a city that features old town historic charm and new development on the west side of the city. The city is located north of the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121) and splits across Hwy 75.
You get the best of both worlds with quick access to Dallas, but suburban life in McKinney. The current population hovers around 180,000. The city features outstanding outdoor recreational areas for hiking, biking, and family adventures. There is also a unique shopping area in Downtown McKinney.
The city uses a tagline "Unique by Nature" because they feel that it allows the city to work together with residents to make McKinney a great place. It's a fast growing city with residents and businesses moving in at a great pace, but the city plans well for the expansion.
The nation continues to recognize McKinney as a stand-out community. Money Magazine ranked McKinney the #1 Best Place to Live in America in 2014. Factors considered included employment, schools, crime and safety, as well as overall quality of life aspects including a feeling of community pride. This adds to the accolades the city has already received.
